Horoscopes: reliability of zodiac signs

Hey,

For today’s post we’ll be getting further into the Autumnal season by discussing horoscopes and how reliable they are. In case you didn’t know, horoscopes are basically made up of different zodiac signs, 12 to be exact, and each of them have different personality traits which is determined by the lining of stars or something (basically it’s all about astrology). When I was in high school, I used to read my horoscope every morning on the bus, as it was the only way that I could keep myself awake before school started hahah. I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t enjoy reading them at the time. However, I no longer do read them to be fair as I grew out of the whole superstitious idea of your traits being determined by astrology, just sounded too ‘meh’ for me. I’m sure there are people out there that do take it seriously when it comes to their zodiac signs aura, which is perfectly okay as we’re not all the same, but as I mentioned it wasn’t really my cup of tea.

 

Regardless to my lack of belief in them, I thought it would be fun to do a post on it anyways and compare whether my personality truly fits my zodiac sign. My birthday is on 25th August, which makes my zodiac sign a Virgo; this is in the Earth element. According to the internet, my sign is seen as successful, creative and clever (talk about setting up a high bar haha).

 

 

What does the internet say?

Virgos are known to ‘always pay attention to the smallest details and their deep sense of humanity makes them one of the most careful signs. Their methodological approach to life ensures that nothing is left to chance, although they’re often tender, their heart may be closed for the outer world’.

Now this synopsis is kind of relatable to my actual personality but only a little. For instance, I wouldn’t really mind leaving things down to chance as sometimes I do prefer stepping out of my comfort zones more and just seeing where the day takes me. If there’s anything that I’ve learned growing up, it’s that you don’t get a second chance at life so do you really want to watch it go by standing on the side-lines? However, I can say that the whole thing about the heart being closed for the ‘outer world’ is on par with my personality hahah. I’ll admit that I do have trouble trusting people, hence tend not to open up to those around me even though I really do want to. Of course this does not mean that I do not class these people as someone significant to me, merely means that it takes me a little longer than other individuals to open up. Is it just me or am I slightly sounding like Lara Jean from To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. So yes I may be a little close hearted but deep inside I’m opening up I promise haha.

Overall, I guess I do agree that I’m compatible to some of the Virgo traits that are given but only slightly. I think it does depend on your own individual traits, as someone else out there that’s a Virgo may be ticking all the boxes for all I know. In regards to reliability, I’d say it doesn’t really take much for a person to be able to analyse the different signs and then present daily horoscopes for them. I’d still say that it is not really a reliable way of analysing your personality trait(s).
